Mangrove monitor lizards
The mangrove monitor lizard (Varanus indicus) was first discovered in Indonesia or the East Indies. Due to its wide dispersion, the mangrove monitor lizard is considered a cryptic species, including at least four sister species: Varanus indicus, Varanus doreanus, Varanus spinulosus and Varanus jobiensis.
