Morphological Characteristics of Reticulated Python
Reticulated Python

Although the reticulated python is very slender, it is also a very powerful predator. Reticulated pythons are the longest pythons in the world, with a typical body length of about 25 to 35 feet. It is said that this snake has strangled humans and even swallowed them.
The upper lip scales of reticulated pythons have concave labial pits. There are three fine black lines on the head, one in the middle of the head, and the other two extending from the eyes to the corners of the mouth. The back of the body is gray-brown or yellow-brown, with mixed diamond-shaped black-brown and yellow or light gray mesh patterns. Hence its name.
Reticulated pythons can grow into the largest snakes in the world, and their growth to huge sizes is even rarer than that of the anaconda. While many people are adamant about keeping a 30-foot-long (about 9.1-meter) snake in their home that is heavier than two family members combined, the reticulated python is clearly not a pet for everyone. Giant snakes, including all other types of snakes, should only be kept by those who can house and care for them well.
